Assemble PDF Node

The Assemble to PDF node extracts files from a compressed zip folder and then merges them into a single document. This node can handle all merging all Supported File Types to a PDF. The node properties will contain settings specific to various formats that could be converted by this node. 

NOTESome conversion format settings will be global and found in PAS Conversion Preferences instead of the node properties. 

 

General Settings

Include Subfolders - whether or not to extract subfolders from the zip directory

File Filter

Options that define the properties of the files to be picked up

File Name Pattern: List of allowed extensions separated by a comma and a space. (For example: .png, .jpeg, .jpg, .tiff). You may select a file name pattern, including the asterisk character. The server will limit its view to those files which match the pattern.

Note: Use the File Types chooser to easily insert file name patterns for common file types

Modified: Picks up files that are modified Before or After the specified date

File Size: Picks up files that are Less Than or Greater Than specified size

 

Zip Archive Passwords to Try

Password: Set the password to use when attempting to open password protected archives. Use that "Add" button set multiple passwords to try. If all attempts to open the archive fail it will be sent to Workflow Trouble Handling.

 

Excel to PDF

Add a Bookmark for each sheet - Creates a bookmark in the PDF for each sheet in the workbook

Scaling - Determines how the spreadsheet will be broken up into pages when converting to PDF. PDF Automation Server will use page size and margin settings set within the Excel document when creating the PDF document.

 

Text to PDF

Font

Font - The font for the header and footer

Font Size - The font size for the header and footer

B - Makes all of the text Bold

I - Makes all of the text Italic

Page Size

Units - Units to use when calculating the position of the header and footer. This can be inches, points, centimeters, or millimeters. Points are calculated in the PDF standard, 72 points per inch.

Width - The width of the newly created PDF document

Height -  The height of the newly created PDF document

Margins

Top - The distance of the margin from the top

Bottom - The distance of the margin from the bottom

Left - The distance of the margin from the left

Right - The distance of the margin from the right

Background

Use Background - Sets an image to be used as the background on the newly created document. Enter the full path to the image file on the server. Accepted formats are jpg, png, & tiff.

Note: This directory is local to where the server is running not the PAS Manager and so the file path must follow the format set by the OS of the server.

 

Image to PDF

Images will be converted to PDF using the following default conversion settings.

Below are the image format conversion rules used when creating the PDF.

JPEG - remain as JPEGs & DPI from image (if not present default to 72)

JPEG2000 - remain as JPEG2000 & 72 DPI

GIF - recompressed to FLATE at 72 DPI

PNG - recompressed to FLATE & DPI from image (if not present default to 72)

TIFF - recompressed to FLATE & DPI from image (if not present default to 72)

B&W - recompressed to JBIG2 & DPI from image (if not present default to 72)
